Employment Values
Fitness First Equal Opportunities Policy
Fitness First is committed to providing equal opportunities in all aspects of employment. We are committed not only to the letter of the law but to the equality of opportunity in all areas of employment.
We recognise that our organisation can only be effective if we have a diverse employee base, representing every section of society. We want to recruit employees and managers who represent the communities in which we operate and the members we serve.
The company will not tolerate any form of discrimination on the grounds of race, sex, disability, age, sexual orientation or religious belief. Disciplinary action will be taken if anyone is found to have discriminated on these grounds.
This policy applies to recruitment, training, promotions, transfers, pay and benefits, appraisals and all other terms and conditions of employment.
We will continuously review this policy to ensure compliance with current legislation and to ensure that equality of opportunity remains at the centre of Fitness First’s Human Resource policy.
Fitness First Disability Policy
Fitness First has a strong commitment to equal opportunities for all members of the community. This means an active responsibility to ensure equal access to careers for disabled and able-bodied applicants.
Our interviews and recruitment processes are completely free from bias and all aspects are monitored to ensure equality. All applicants are invited to inform us of any special requirements prior to interview and all reasonable adjustments are made to ensure that disabled applicants are at no disadvantage in comparison to able-bodied applicants. Decisions regarding recruitment outcomes are made without reference to disability and are based purely according to the best person for the job.
Once employed by Fitness First, disabled members of staff will be treated with the same respect and have access to the same opportunities as any other member of staff. Fitness First recognises our responsibility to make reasonable adjustments to working practises and environments to allow equality of access to disabled members of staff.
