After an amazing two weeks of record breaking and incredible athletic achievements, the 2016 Olympic Games have come to an end. As proud partners of Team GB, we were following the successes of the team every day, celebrating their wins as well as their near wins, as each and every member of Team GB trained tirelessly in preparation and gave it their all.
Back in May, well before the Games began, a selection of Team GB athletes gave us insight into their daily training routine as well as asking you to show off your skills in a series of fitness challenges. We also introduced some of the team’s newest additions, who were all set to make their Olympic debut in Rio this summer. So, how did they get on? In case you hadn’t already heard, Team GB did pretty well indeed. Discover how some of the home-grown athletes we previewed earlier this year got on below…
Winner of the gold medal for the pommel horse at the 2015 World Championships, gymnast Max stormed to victory once again in Rio by taking Gold in both the pommel horse and the floor exercises. And if that wasn’t success enough, he also bagged the Bronze medal in the men’s individual all-round competition. Yes, Max totally smashed it.

Swimmer Jazz won gold in last year’s European Short Course Championships and also won bronze in the 800m freestyle bronze at the World Championships in Kazan. This summer in Rio, the 25 year old bagged silver medals in both the 400m freestyle and 800m freestyle. Great work, Jazz!

A first-time Olympic competitor, 20 year old Nile won silver in the team event at the 2015 Gymnastics World Championships. As a junior, Nile was also the British rings and high bar champion back in 2012 as well as being named UK School Games Champion that year. Making his Olympics debut, Nile came third place in the men’s horizontal bar, taking a bronze medal for Team GB. What a result…

Last year taekwondo star Bianca took the gold at the World Championships in Russia, and to add to her medal cabinet, the 24 year old bagged a Bronze at this year’s Olympic Games. In her competition for the Bronze medal in Rio, Bianca trounced Morocco’s Wiam Dislam seven points to one.

Aged just 23, Philip won gold in the team sprint in London 2012, with partners Chris Hoy and Jason Kenny. He was awarded an MBE for services to cycling in the 2013 New Year Honours and went on to win team sprint silver at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. So, how did he fare in Rio? Philip won the gold once again in the team sprint alongside Jason Kenny and Callum Skinner. Congratulations, guys!

Gymnast Amy Tinkler won two silvers and one bronze at the 2014 Junior European Championships, before joining senior competition in 2015 and helping Great Britain win the bronze medal in the World Championships team final. A first-time Olympic athlete, the 16 year old stormed the floor exercise in Rio and took the bronze medal. What a debut, Amy!

Gloucester-born Vicky competed at London 2012 and then went on to won bronze in the triathlon at the 2014 Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. In the Rio 2016 triathlon, the 30 year old bagged a bronze medal once again. Well done, Vicky!

Another one of the first-time athletes we previewed ahead of the Games, 20 year old James returned from the 2015 World Championships with two gold medals and a silver under his belt. Dubbed as ‘one to watch’ in Rio, James didn’t disappoint – the swimmer won silver medals in both the 4x200m freestyle relay and the men’s 4x100m medley relay.
