Athletics Northern Ireland is the governing body for the sport of athletics in N. Ireland. It was founded in 1989 by the amalgamation of the NI Amateur Athletic Association (founded in 1932) and the NI Womens Amateur Athletic Association (founded in 1951).
As well as overseeing Track & Field, Cross Country, Road Running and Fell & Mountain Running, Athleytics NI also handle athletic club and athlete registration, acting as a central point for all things running in Northern Ireland.
The current President of Athletics NI is Pamela Brown, and the Patron is 1972 Olympic Pentathlon Champion Dame Mary Peters.
