Sometimes overlooked, they are a fantastic way to give yourself a full body workout as each stroke activates 85% of your muscles, covering nine major muscle groups!
To give the rowing machine the respect it deserves, we’ve teamed up with our partners at British Rowing to bring you the Go Row Indoor challenges, giving you the opportunity to put your fitness levels to the test.
There are two challenges available to take part in, a 350m row to test your speed and a more arduous 2k row to measure your endurance. To get involved, simply head down to your local Fitness First gym, take on your chosen challenge then submit your time here!
To help you prepare for the challenges, British Rowing has created a number of training plans to suit every level of fitness.
