In search of yoga classes either in London or near London? Look no further. At Fitness First, we offer yoga classes at all of our gyms, which are located in the capital or just outside of it.
Suitable for all ages and fitness abilities, yoga is a Hindu discipline originating from India, and is the practice of a sequence of different postures, stretches and breathing techniques. Due its adaptability and leisurely pace, yoga can be practiced by almost anyone.
The benefits of yoga have been proven for many years now and include improved flexibility, balance, posture and bone structure, as well as increased muscle strength and blood circulation. Yoga has also been proven to benefit mental health and anxiety. The practice incorporates meditation and mindful breathing techniques, which help to calm the mind, reduce stress and aid sleeping disorders.
At Fitness First, we teach a range of yoga styles across our gyms including powerful and dynamic Ashtanga yoga, intense and detoxifying hot yoga (Bikram), energised Kripalu yoga, posture-focused Iyengar yoga, and non-stop Vinyasa Flow yoga. You can find a selection of these yoga classes at all of our London-located gyms, and at our gyms in Basildon, Basingstoke, Brighton, Ilford, Romford and St Albans, all near London, too.
Fitness First yoga sessions are taught by expert instructors and last from 45 minutes up to one hour. Yoga, depending on the posture and style of practice, is low-impact on the body. Do, however, flag any injuries or disabilities to your instructor ahead of the class.
Our classes are open to all abilities and participants are encouraged to take the class at their own pace – yoga is non-competitive and is taught in a friendly, relaxing environment.
