If you're wondering whether your weight is healthy for someone of your height, you can determine that using height/weight chart. The chart maps out height in feet or inches on one axis and weight in stone or kilos on the other axis. The intersect of your height and weight on the chart will be deemed underweight, healthy, overweight, obese or very obese.
Use the chart below to discover whether your weight is (on average) healthy for your height.
Body Mass Index, also known as BMI, is a measure of a body fat in relation to your height and weight, which can also determine how healthy a person is. BMI, which is given as a score ranging from late teens to the early thirties, isn't a totally accurate indicator of your overall health but it can be used to estimate whether you're underweight or overweight.
For adults over the age of 20, a healthy BMI is between 18.5 and 24.5. Anything below 18.5 is considered too low and could mean that a person is underweight, and anything over 24.5 is too high and could mean that a person is overweight or obese (30 to 39.9).
You can use a BMI calculator to determine your score – all you need to know is your height in centimetres and your weight kilos. Calculate your Body Mass Index here. If you want to know more about reducing your Body Mass Index, discover tips here [link to how to reduce bmi article].
