There’s never been a more exciting time for women in sport. With more women than ever on the mainstream stage, female athletes are taking the world by storm, and it’s only getting better.

Fitness First is teaming up with some of the biggest brands in sport to shine a light on female athletes and to make 2019 the summer of women’s sport with #OWNIT.

Anna Woolhouse, the face of Sky Sports Boxing and a DW brand ambassador, is fronting the campaign with an important message of inspiring and empowering women in sport. An established broadcast journalist and presenter, Anna has covered a huge range of sporting events, including netball, ice hockey and F1. Anna is a true lover of sport and fitness, a passion which she shares with her 90,000 Instagram followers.

Each week Anna will be speaking with some of the UK’s top female athletes, taking us through their backgrounds, what makes them tick and their relationship with sport.

We start with British breaststroke swimmer and Speedo ambassador, Molly Renshaw, telling us first-hand how hard work pays off. She lives and breathes her sport, spending 20 hours a week perfecting her technique, with regular gym training on top of that. Molly has held a passion for swimming from an early age, joining her county club and practising her swimming before heading to school.

Fast forward to today and Molly is a renowned gold medal-winning swimmer in both the European and world championships. Not only has she bagged a number of medals for Britain, but she even represented her country at the 2016 Olympics, breaking the British world record in the semi-finals.

Inspired by fellow female athletes, such as Dina-asher Smith, Molly is always pushing herself to improve and stay at the top of her game. We know that Molly’s achievements are also helping to inspire women everywhere, proving that with enough hard work anything is possible.

Whatever your sport is and no matter what level you’re at, this campaign is to help you own it.
