Class is for intermediate level
Influenced by many styles of dance (including everything from salsa to street dance), Zumba is a dance-cum-aerobics class performed to both Latin and international music. An infectious mix inspired by traditional cumbia, salsa, samba and merengue music, Zumba classes are easy to follow, addictive and a great group workout. Unlike most exercise classes though, Zumba is like one big party and although it involves set dance routines, if you don't know what you're doing, freestyle moves are actively encouraged.
The atmosphere may be fun and relaxed, but Zumba is a seriously good way to burn calories and shed fat. High and low intensity intervals get the heart rate going and routines involving the arms, legs and glutes make for a thorough all-body workout. With Zumba, the harder you work, the harder your muscles will, which is why our teachers will always tell participants to crank up the intensity and work up a sweat!
