Belonging at Clapham

Movement as an art form.

At 14, Demetri discovered calisthenics, a sport few had even heard of, and turned it into a creative outlet. By 17, he was a decorated competitor, winning international titles and being crowned UK Vice National Champion. But more than medals, Demetri built community; founding youth organisations, inspiring thousands, and reshaping how young people engaged with fitness.

When he joined Fitness First Clapham, he found something he’d never experienced in an indoor gym: belonging.

Creative training

The open floors became his training ground, the studios his stage. Between PTs sharing knowledge, spontaneous sessions with friends, and even rehearsing dance routines, Fitness First gave Demetri freedom to train like an artist and connect with people who shared his passion.

In return, he’s inspired members and trainers to explore calisthenics, creativity, and new ways of moving.

From outdoor parks to callisthenics influencer, and now to a thriving community at Fitness First, Demetri’s story proves that progress is more than performance; it’s connection, creativity, and choosing to show up together again and again.

The reason why I travel all the way across London just to come to Fitness First it’s because of that feeling of community that I really feel strongly at Fitness First spaces and that is something I struggle finding in other London gyms.

Real progress

From outdoor parks to callisthenics influencer, and now to a thriving community at Fitness First, Demetri’s story proves that progress is more than performance; it’s connection, creativity, and choosing to show up together again and again.

What Demetri found here:

  • Open floors to train like an artist
  • PTs who share knowledge and spark ideas
  • Community to connect and progress together

Frequently asked questions

Q.

What happens on a tour?

A.

When you book a free tour, a member of our friendly club team will welcome you and guide you through the facilities.

You’ll get to:

  • Explore the gym floor, studios, and key amenities.

  • Learn about the classes, equipment, and training options available.

  • Share your fitness goals so we can show you the best ways Fitness First can support you—whether that’s personal training, classes, or flexible membership options.

The tour is completely no-obligation, and it’s the best way to see if the club feels right for you.

Q.

How long does it take?

A.

Tours are designed to be short and flexible. Most last around 20 minutes, giving you enough time to see the facilities and chat about your goals without feeling rushed. Slots are available every 30 minutes, so it’s easy to find a time that fits your schedule.

Q.

Can I bring a friend?

A.

Our tours are personalised one-to-one so we can focus fully on your goals and give you the best experience. If your friend is also interested, they’re welcome to book their own free tour—either before or after yours—using the same quick link. That way, you’ll both get a tailored introduction while still being able to share the experience together.

At Fitness First, we believe progress isn't linear, results don't come from quick fixes, it's about showing up, again and again. It's not about perfection, it's about progress. Every rep, every class, every choice adds up to real change. Whether you're taking your first step or your next leap, progress is waiting. Because when you choose progress, you don't just change your body - you change what you believe is possible.
