Julian’s fitness journey began over 40 years ago as a 13-year-old boy in South Africa, finding his life’s passion in a set of hand-me-down dumbbells. When he first started the concept of a ‘Personal Trainer’ didn’t even exist, but he became one after years as a dedicated Gym Instructor, choosing to be a part of the community at Fitness First, defining the future of fitness.
For Julian, the power of exercise is a miracle. He helped one of his first clients, a middle-aged woman, who was so stiff she struggled to get dressed. Within a few sessions of careful weight training, she was reborn, regaining her mobility and fundamentally changing her emotional health. He showed her the power of exercise to flush out deep-seated muscle-stiffness.

Strength to Sustain
He also worked with a 60-year-old client whose beloved routine of walking through Central London was stopped by severe knee pain. Julian successfully persuaded her to try light Leg Extensions and Curls. Slowly, her knees grew stronger, and she is now back to her full walking schedule. This routine, which allows her to walk past London's historic monuments as the city comes to life, gives them both great satisfaction.
